ACTING LIKE A CHILD
Why is it that people with money tend to regress back into childhood? Look at Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks. After he bought the team, he’d sit behind the team’s bench during games and jump and up, screaming at the referees, the players, and even the coach, as if he knew how to do their jobs better than they do. He’s even been thrown out of games for his conduct. Why is this man doing this? He’s a billionaire. He has the right to enjoy the game as much as any other fan, maybe even more since he owns the team, but what gives him the right to act like a child? Those are all adults out there. I know he’s put his money into the team and wants to see results like a championship and such, but that takes time. It can’t happen overnight and he’s only one part of the organization. He’s not the one out there trying to put plays together, know when to substitute different players or call time-outs. He’s not the one that has to make the right pass, make that shot, and guard his opponent. Obviously, he’s a smart man to have become a billionaire in the first place, but that doesn’t mean he has to have left this maturity behind him. What kind of example does that make for his team and their fans?
